How to Download Instagram Reels, Photos and Stories
Instagram holds several kinds of content — Reels, single photos, multi-image carousels, and Stories — and each can be saved from a public account in your browser. This guide covers what you can download and how, without logging in or installing anything.
Only public content can be read, in line with each account's privacy settings, and you should only save content you own or have permission to use.
What you can save
From a public account you can save Reels, feed videos, single photos, every image in a carousel, and Stories while they are still active. The downloader detects which type a link points to and lists what is available.
Reels
Open the Reel, use the ••• menu and choose Copy link, then paste it into the Instagram downloader. Pick the video quality you want and save it to your device.
Photos & carousels
A single photo saves in its original resolution. For a carousel, each image is available individually, so you can save one or all of them from the same link.
Stories
Stories from public accounts can be saved while they are live. Because Stories expire after 24 hours, their links stop resolving once they are gone — so save promptly if you need one.
