What this is

A monetization checker measures your channel's numbers against the YouTube Partner Program thresholds and shows what is left on each. Two things about them are widely misread. First, the subscriber requirement and the viewership requirement are both mandatory — clearing one is not enough. Second, the viewership requirement has two alternative routes: 4,000 long-form watch hours in twelve months, or 10 million Shorts views in ninety days, and either one satisfies it.

How it works

The two viewership routes are measured over different windows and cannot be combined. Watch hours count over a rolling twelve months; Shorts views count over a rolling ninety days. Because both windows roll, progress you have banked can shrink if uploads stop — hours older than twelve months fall out of the count.

Beyond the numbers there are requirements no calculator can measure: the channel must follow the monetisation policies, carry no active Community Guidelines strike, sit in a country where the programme operates, and be linked to an AdSense account with two-step verification enabled. Hitting the numbers without those still ends in a rejection.
