What this is
A caption line break generator inserts an invisible character into every empty line, so the spacing between paragraphs is not stripped when the caption is posted. Instagram and TikTok collapse genuinely empty lines, which turns a caption that looked well spaced in your notes app into one dense block once it goes live. The character inserted — the Braille pattern blank — counts as content to the platform, so the line survives, while displaying nothing on screen.
How it works
The character used is U+2800, a Braille character deliberately defined with no dots raised, so it renders as nothing. It is chosen precisely because it is not a space — platforms strip lines containing only whitespace, but leave a line containing this character alone.
Every inserted character still counts against the caption limit. On an Instagram caption with 2,200 characters that rarely matters, but on a tightly limited platform each spaced line costs you one character of writing room.
Because screen readers do encounter it as a Braille character, some will announce it. One blank line between paragraphs is fine; stacking five in a row produces a repetition that is genuinely irritating for a blind user.

- Why do line breaks disappear in Instagram captions?
- Instagram strips genuinely empty lines when the caption is saved, taking your paragraph spacing with them. Inserting an invisible character means the line is no longer empty, so the spacing survives.
- Is the invisible character safe to use?
- It is — U+2800 is a long-standing standard Unicode character and violates no platform rule. The only caution is not to overdo it, since screen readers may announce each occurrence.
- Does this work on TikTok and Threads as well?
- It works on TikTok, which strips empty lines the same way. Threads and X generally preserve blank lines already, so adding the character there just spends characters for nothing.
