What this is
A poll is the fastest way to turn a question into numbers. For a creator its value is not only gathering opinions but giving an audience a reason to come back: someone who has voted wants to know how it ended. Nothing here requires an account from anyone — not the creator, not the voter — so the barrier to taking part is nearly zero, and that is what most decides how many votes arrive.
How it works
Results stay hidden until someone votes. Showing a running tally first changes what people answer: most drift toward whichever option is already ahead, which makes the final result describe who voted first rather than what your audience actually thinks.
One vote per person is kept by storing a short fingerprint of the voter's network address rather than the address itself, scoped to that one poll. The fingerprint is enough to recognise a repeat vote but cannot be used to work out who voted or to link their votes across polls. To be honest about the limit: this stops ordinary repeat voting, not someone deliberately switching networks.
A poll is kept for thirty days and then disappears on its own. That is long enough for nearly any creator's purpose and short enough that no archive of old questions accumulates without reason.
How to use it
- Write your question One clear sentence works best.
- Add the options Two to ten options; three or four is usually enough.
- Share the link Anyone who opens it can vote without signing up.
Common questions
- Do voters need an account?
- No — anyone who opens the link can vote immediately. There is no sign-up, no app, and no personal detail asked of a voter.
- How does it stop repeat voting?
- A short fingerprint of the voter's network address is stored for that poll alone, so a repeat vote from the same device is recognised without the address being kept. This stops ordinary repeat voting; it cannot stop someone deliberately switching networks.
- How long does a poll last?
- A poll is kept for thirty days from creation, then deletes itself along with all its votes. Take a screenshot of the result if you need it for longer.
- Why can I not see results before voting?
- Because seeing a running tally changes what people pick — the pull toward whichever option leads is well observed. Hiding it until someone votes makes the final result more honest.
