What this is

An X (Twitter) video downloader is a tool that reads a post's link and saves its video as an MP4. X serves video in several resolutions, and the tool offers every one that exists so you choose between the sharpest file and a lighter one. GIFs — which X actually stores as short videos — can be saved too. It all runs in the browser with no login and no app.

How it works

Every video on X is available in a handful of resolution variants generated at upload. The downloader reads that list from the link you paste and offers each as an MP4, with the highest resolution at the top. You pick the finished size, not a technical detail.

What appears as a GIF on X is really a short silent video, so it saves as an MP4 as well. Restricted posts or those from locked accounts are not public and cannot be retrieved here — the tool only works with posts anyone can see.

Videos on X belong to whoever posted them. Save one to watch offline or as reference; do not re-upload it without permission. Respect the poster's rights and X's Terms.

How to use it

  1. Copy the post link On the X post, tap the share icon → Copy link, or copy the x.com/…/status/… URL from the address bar.
  2. Paste it in the field above Paste the link into the field. Both x.com and twitter.com links are recognised.
  3. Pick a resolution Choose the highest resolution for best quality or a lower one for a smaller file. A GIF saves as MP4.
  4. Save the file Tap save and the video downloads to your device straight from the source.

Common questions

How do I download a video from X (Twitter)?
Copy the post link from the share icon, paste it in the box above, then choose the resolution you want. The video saves as MP4 with no login and no app.
Can I save a GIF from X?
Yes. A GIF on X is really a short silent video, so it is retrieved and saved as an MP4 file that plays anywhere.
Do old twitter.com links still work?
Yes — both x.com and twitter.com links are recognised and point at the same post. Paste either and the tool finds the video.
Do I need to log in to X?
No — this tool works without a login for public posts. Posts from locked or restricted accounts cannot be retrieved because they are not publicly visible.
